Description
Classic ships cannons were usually mounted on a wooden carriage. In case of enemy engagements gun port were raised and cannons rolled out. Aiming the gun was an art. Cannons were identified by the weight of iron cannon balls. Our hand made wood cannon models were mounted on the ships taffrail, the railing around the poop deck. They served as light and easy to aim guns to deal with fast sailing pirate and enemy vessels. They were mounted on a bronze cradle which allowed for fast reloading and precise aiming.
